Charters and Founding Agreements
The following documents record the earliest compacts of the Commonwealth — agreements forged between families, cooperatives, and assemblies in the first decades after the Fracture. Each stands as both legal instrument and living promise: a record of how freedom was meant to be practiced.
Ironwood Cooperative Charter
Drafted in the early days of settlement by the founding families of Ironwood Range — Sinclair, Valeria, Villafuerta, and Makakuk — this charter bound their labor, land, and defense into a single trust. It served as the foundation for Ironwood’s cooperative model and the blueprint for later communal agreements across the Commonwealth.
Declaration of Communal Rights
Ratified at Port Jubilee during the first Assembly, this declaration articulated the moral core of the New Alaskan experiment: that liberty must be held in common, and that care is the highest expression of law. Its language would echo through every subsequent revision of the Commonwealth Charter.
